The Beijing Municipal government has granted this year's "Great Wall Friendship Prize" to ten foreign experts working in the city.
The winners hail from countries including Canada, Finland, Germany and Japan. Their work contributes to Beijing's development in industry, manufacturing, education, tourism and many other fields.
Beijing's deputy mayor Zhang Mao says the city welcomes more foreign experts and friends to help the city's modernization drive. The municipal government will make concerted efforts to ensure their lawful interests are upheld, and that a good working environment is created for them.
The "Great Wall Friendship Prize" was instituted in 1999 to award excellence by foreign experts in Beijing.
