President Jiang said Macao had enjoyed a stable society and developing economy since it rejoined China three years ago.

He said the "One Country, Two Systems" policy had proved successful both in solving the historic problems related to Hong Kong and Macao and in ensuring the two regions' prosperity and stability.

The recent 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) had summarized the experiences in the country's development over the past 13 years, he said. One of the experiences was steadfastly sticking to the "One Country, Two System" policy.

The newly elected CPC leaders would continue to implement the Party's policy on Hong Kong and Macao, he said.
