Iranian Majlis (parliament) Speaker Mahdi Karrubi, at the head of a high-ranking delegation, left Tehran for Beijing Monday morning to explore ways for bolstering bilateralties.
Before departure, Karrubi praised "very good" mutual ties between Iran and China in political, economic, parliamentary, regional and international fields.

Karrubi's visit is at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Peng.
Iran's Minister of Industries and Mines Eshaq Jahangiri and several Majlis deputies are accompanying Karrubi on his nine-day Asia trip, which will also take him to Thailand.
