BMW Moves to Expand Market in China
Global automobile giant BMW is enlarging its Chinese service networks in a move to expand business in the country, Luedde Paysen, vice-president of BMW's marketing department, said during a recent visit to Shanghai.

In cooperation with its partner, the Shanghai Bowdex Motor Co.,Ltd, BMW have opened service centers in the Pudong New District ofShanghai and southeastern China's Wenzhou city, respectively.
The company will also run service centers in Nanjing, capital of eastern China's Jiangsu province, and in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province.
The number of BMW owners in the Shanghai area has tripled in the last three years and in the first 10 months of this year salesin China rose by 52 percent, higher than the average growth rate in Asia over the same period last year.
Paysen said he believed BMW would gain a larger market share in Asia, and hoped for 20-25 percent of its products sold in the region.
BMW's marketing strategy was to expand its business in a country like China, where there was obvious growth potential for luxury automobiles, the vice president said.
