DPRK Rejects IAEA's Demand on Nuclear Issue
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Wednesday that its principled stand on the nuclear issue remains unchanged and cannot accept the resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Wednesday that its principled stand on the nuclear issue remains unchanged and cannot accept the resolution of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
DPRK's Foreign Minister Paek Nam-Sun made the rejection in a letter sent Monday to IAEA, the international nuclear watchdog body, the Korean Central News Agency reported.
"In the letter dated Dec. 2, Paek clarified that the DPRK government cannot accept the November 29, 2002 resolution of the IAEA board of governors in any case," KCNA said.
"There is no change in its principled stand on the nuclear issue, in particular," it added.
The letter also accused the IAEA of handling the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula unfairly.
