Pakistan Criticizes Advani's Statement about War
Pakistan on Monday criticized Indian Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani for advocating war between the two South Asian nations and asked the international community to take note of anti-Pakistani and threatening statements emanating from the Indian leadership.
Pakistan on Monday criticized Indian Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani for advocating war between the two South Asian nations and asked the international community to take note of anti-Pakistani and threatening statements emanating from the Indian leadership.
"The government of Pakistan has taken a serious note of the irresponsible statement made by the Indian Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, advocating war between Pakistan and India," a Foreign Office press release said on Monday.
It termed Advani's statement as "bizarre" and said that it had been made at a time when both Pakistan and India were engaged in withdrawing their forces from the Pakistan-India border.
The press release said that the government of Pakistan would like to assure Advani that Pakistan had the ability to defend itself and that it was not impressed by rhetoric and strident statements.
It invited the international community to take note of the anti-Pakistan and threatening statements emanating from the Indian leadership.
It was reported that Advani on Saturday said," Terrorist organizations are dangerous but terror states are far more dangerous. The international community should ostracise such terror states in the interest of democracy, civilization and humanity," a reference to Pakistan.
He asserted that a fully-fledged war was preferable to recurring "terror attacks" in India. "let us fight it out face-to-face. We have fought thrice, let there be a fourth war," Advani said.
