Putin Says Talks with Jiang Fruitful

Putin said Russia-China relations had reached new heights in recent years, resulting in the establishment of the strategic cooperative partnership and Russia would continue to strengthen the partnership.
The president said his talks with Chinese President Jiang Zeminon Monday morning were rich in content and fruitful and the two sides reviewed the development of bilateral relations in recent years and discussed major international issues.
He said international relations in the future world should ensure the development of all nations and Russia-China strategic cooperative partnership was in conformity with the principle.
Putin said he discussed with Jiang both countries' involvement in ensuring regional and global security and stability, cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the operation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Putin said both sides believed the SCO had played an important role in multinational cooperation in various fields.
He said the two sides also discussed bilateral trade. Economic cooperation is growing rapidly with a number of major cooperative projects in progress, he said.
He said the two countries have always stood for a multipolar world and for enlarging the role of certain international organizations such as the United Nations.
