Beijing Promises Continued Support of Foreign Investment
Beijing will, as always, provide a favorable environment for foreign investment and establishment of research centers, Mayor Liu Qi said Tuesday during a meeting with Jorma Ollila, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Nokia.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, said his city is willing to further enhance cooperation with Nokia, improve the service for Nokia and other foreign enterprises, and create a favorable investment environment so as to boost the development of foreign enterprises.
Beijing will make further strides for the wider usage of information technology in the national economy, aiming to propel the drive of "Digital Beijing" and "Digital Olympics," Liu said, adding that Beijing welcomes Nokia's participation in its modern manufacturing and digital drive.
Jorma Ollila is here as a member of Finnish delegation led by President Tarja Halonen of the Republic of Finland.
