More Leaders Hail Jiang's Re-election as Military Commission Chief

More leaders of friendly political parties, countries, and organizations have congratulated China's Jiang Zemin on his re-election as chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri said in a message that the sound relationship and close cooperation between Indonesia and China have been further strengthened. She also thanked Jiang for his support and cooperation.

Niger's prime minister and chairman of the National Movement for the Society of Development-Nassara, Hama Amadou, wished Jiang greater accomplishments in his future work.

Under the leadership of the CPC with Jiang at the core, the Chinese people have made great progress in the fields of politics,economy and science and technology, said Amadou.

"People of the developing countries have a very high opinion ofyour contributions to the promotion of world peace and development."

Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin and former Speaker of the Georgian National Assembly, Zurab Zhvaniya, have also sent their congratulatory messages to Jiang on the occasion.
