Foreign Leaders, Party Chiefs Hail Hu's Election as CPC Leader
More leaders of friendly nations, political parties and organizations have sent congratulatory messages over the past few days to Hu Jintao on his election as the general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Extending his warm congratulations to Hu, French President Jacques Chirac said he hoped that France and China, in the framework of the all-round French-Sino partnership that both sideshad agreed on in 1997, would make joint efforts to strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries in all fields.
He expressed the belief that this good political intention would bring a broad prospect for bilateral ties between France andChina, and would also enable the two countries to make necessary contributions to the establishment of a more just world order under the rule of law.
General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party of Ghana, Daniel Botwe, warmly congratulated the successful convention of the 16th National Congress of the CPC as well as Hu's election as the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
"We would humbly like to remind the new leadership of the CPC of the great tasks before them, and we hope that their leadership will bring to China a high rate of economic development and a stronger nation, which will fulfill the aspirations of the broad masses of Chinese people." He said in a congratulatory telegram.
In a congratulatory message to Hu, Vice-President of the Socialist Party of Brazil, Roberto Almara, expressed belief that under the CPC's leadership, the glorious Chinese people would strive for the construction of socialism and safeguarding world peace.
President of the Latin American Parliament, Deputado Ney Lopes,hailed Hu's election.
Chairman of the Greater Romania Party, Corneliu Vadim Tudor, extended his cordial congratulations to Hu and wished him success in achieving the lofty goals set at the 16 National Congress of the CPC.
General Secretary of the Constitutionalist Union of Morocco, Mohamed Abied, warmly congratulated Hu on his election as the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and wished him great success in the new post.
In a congratulatory telegram, Secretary-General of the Independence Party of Morocco, Abbas El Fassi, hailed Hu's election and wished him success in the new post. He also expressedhis belief that the existing friendly relations between the two parties would enjoy positive development in the interest of the peoples of Morocco and China as a result.
President of the All India Congress Committee, Sonia Gundhi, warmly congratulated Hu on his election and said in the telegram: "We followed the proceedings of your 16th Party Congress with keeninterest and we look forward to working closely with you and your colleagues."
Jordan's King Abdullah II Bin Hussein extended his hearty congratulations to Hu and wished prosperity and progress for the friendly Chinese people.
Former Uruguayan president, Luis Alberto Lacalle Herrera, who is also chairman of the National Party of Uruguay, warmly congratulated Hu on his election and expressed hope of further promoting bilateral ties between Uruguay and China.
Manuel Pinto Da Costa, president of the Movement for the Liberation of Sao Tome and Principe -- Social Democratic Party, and the General Secretary of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Nayef Hawatmeh, are among a number of leaders of some other foreign parties or organizations who also sent congratulatory messages to Hu on the occasion.
