CPPCC Standing Committee Expresses Support for CPC Guidelines
The 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Ninth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) closed Saturday in Beijing.
The 19th meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Ninth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) closed Saturday in Beijing.
The meeting, which was presided by National Committee Chairman Li Ruihuan, extended full support to the newly-elected leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and passed a resolution urging careful study and implementation of the guidelines established at the 16th CPC National Congress.
The resolution called on CPPCC members across the country to express firm solidarity with the CPC Central Committee, with Hu Jintao as general secretary, to hold high the great banner of DengXiaoping Theory and to implement the important thought of "Three Represents."
It described the CPC congress as an important meeting held at a time when the China has made great achievements in the modernization drive, and entered a new phase of development.
Participants agreed that the new goals set at the CPC congress for the first 20 years of the new century are the most important for building of an overall well-off society.
