Visiting Ukrainian President Leonid Danilovich Kuchma cut the ribbon at a ceremony Wednesday in Jinan for a just-completed mansion for incubating hi-tech firms in a China-Ukraine hi-tech cooperation park.
This hi-tech park symbolizes the smooth progressing of bilateral cooperation in the hi-tech industry..
The governments of east China's Shandong province and of Ukraine jointly initiated the China-Ukraine hi-tech cooperation park in the provincial capital of Jinan's hi-tech industrial development zone in June, 2000.
The park collected information from more than 700 hi-tech programs transferred from member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), which includes Ukraine, and set up a program information center.
Enterprises in the park have been working to cooperate on six projects on machinery and clear fuel and will increase cooperationto a total of ten projects with a cooperation fund of 5 million yuan (US$ 600,000) by the end of this year.
