November 18 saw three new auto models rolling off production line--Beijing Hyundai's Sonata, KIA's Qianlima and Faw-volkswagen's Audi A6-triggering off a new wave of domestic car production.
The domestic auto market has entered a stage in which more than 200 models under dozens of brand compete with each other, with new models taking over 60 percent market share, related official said.
Putting out of new models would help to increase the nation's car production, which is expected to exceed 1100,000 this year, much higher than the 800,000 estimated at year beginning. Besides, diversified development is seen in both market positioning and technological resources of domestic auto. For example, the Qianlima contains two displacements and eight models, priced between 80,000 and 120,000 yuan. Sonata also has two displacements with prices designed for medium or high-class models. While Audi A6 offers four choices for engines, with prices ranging from 300,000 to 520,000 yuan.
This is a result of rising market demand, expert said, and more than 30 models would be put out at the end of this year and the beginning of next year.
