Bush Discounts Iraqi Parliament's Rejection of Resolution

US President George W. Bush on Monday discounted the Iraqi parliament's rejection of the United Nations Security Council's resolution passed last Friday, calling for disarmament of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein "must comply with UN resolutions or the United States will lead a coalition to disarm him," Bush said during a visit to the US capital's police department.
The Iraqi parliament Tuesday unanimously rejected UN Resolution 1441, but decided to leave the final decision for the Iraqi leadership to make.
"The Iraqi parliament is nothing but a rubber stamp for Saddam Hussein," Bush said. "We're through negotiations. There's no more time. The man must disarm. This kind of deception and delay is all over with."
The United States "is committed to making the world more peaceful by disarming Saddam Hussein. It's just as simple as that. There's a zero tolerance policy now," Bush added.
