Marking the annual Veterans' Day, US President George W. Bush threatened Monday to use full military force against Iraq if Saddam Hussein fails to comply with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

"Should military action become necessary for our own security, I will commit the full force and might of the United States military, and we will prevail," Bush said in a White House speech.

The president said his administration and the Security Council share a determination that Iraq must not produce or possess chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons.

"Iraq pledged to disarm more than a decade ago," Bush said. "It's been a decade of systematic deception, unmet obligations, unpunished violations."

"Those games are now over. Saddam Hussein will fully disarm, and prove that he has done so, or America will lead a coalition todisarm him. This is an urgent task for America and the world," Bush said.

The Security Council unanimously adopted the US draft resolution on Iraq last Friday, imposing a tougher weapons inspection regime on the country after weeks of hot debates among its members.

Under the resolution, Iraq is required to provide, within 30 days, a "currently accurate, full and complete" declaration of allits weapons of mass destruction programs.

False statements or omissions in the declaration submitted by Iraq and failure by that country at any time to comply with and cooperate fully in the implementation of this resolution shall constitute a further material breach of Iraq's obligations and will incur "serious consequences," the resolution says.
