2003 Chinese Volleyball League to Open on Nov. 16
Twelve men's teams and 12 women's teams are set to battle out in 2003 Chinese volleyball league, said an official of Chinese Volleyball Association (CVA) on Fridayevening.

Gao Shenyang, the vice-president of CVA, said that the Women's Volleyball League would begin on November 16 and end on January 26,2003, while Men's league would run from February 8, 2003 to April 27, 2003.
According to Gao, the 22-week-long League will have 180 matches,which will be held in 23 cities, including major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin.
Gao said that China had set an eye on 2004 Athens Olympics and the league would be the best chance for Chinese young players to improve their skills.
"The Volleyball League will be the training camp of Chinese volleyball players. They will be more competitive in the international competitions after they compete in a high-level domestic league." said Gao.
