Foreign Vendors Increase Support for Chinese Airlines
Eight aviation product and service vendors from Europe and the United States signed agreements Wednesday in Zhuhai with the CASC/Airbus Customer Services Support Center.
Eight aviation product and service vendors from Europe and the United States signed agreements Wednesday in Zhuhai with the CASC/Airbus Customer Services Support Center.
The eight vendors, which include Eaton Aerospace, Honeywell, Parker Aerospace, Goodrich, Satair and TPA, provide spare parts, avionics repair, customer service and training to Airbus operatorsin China and the Asia-Pacific region at large.
The new agreements bring the total number of Airbus partners atthe center to 20. Together the vendors are able to provide more than 80 percent of aviation products and services most often needed, and complement an Airbus stock of 24,000 spare parts.
The vendors' presence at the Beijing-based CASC/Airbus CustomerServices Support Center helps to ensure a fast response to airlineneeds while reducing costs and turnaround time. It also provides opportunities for new business and for technological cooperation with them, said Guy Mcleod, president of Airbus China.
CASC/Airbus Customer Services Support Center is a state-of-the-art training and support complex jointly established by the China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Corporation (CASC) and Airbus.The facility makes training and support more accessible and convenient to Airbus operators in China as well as in the Asia-Pacific region. The facility represents an investment of more than80 million US dollars by Airbus in China.
