Beijing to Show Paintings, Calligraphy by Chinese, Japanese Celebrities

Paintings and calligraphy by political, economic and cultural celebrities of China and Japan will be exhibited from Nov. 3 to 8 in the Forbidden City in Beijing, as one of a series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese ties.

Paintings and calligraphy by political, economic and cultural celebrities of China and Japan will be exhibited from Nov. 3 to 8 in the Forbidden City in Beijing, as one of a series of events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese ties.

A total of 154 works will be displayed, with 75 from China and 79 from Japan. More than 30 Chinese officials and over 20 Japanese politicians have contributed to the show.

The exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Subcommittee of Foreign Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the China-Japan Friendship Association, the Japan Art and Culture Association and the Japan Politicians' Association for Art Promotion.

The exhibition will also be held in Tokyo from Dec. 17 to 22.
