Chinese Premier Leaves Beijing for Cambodia

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji left Beijing Friday for the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji left Beijing Friday for the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The Chinese premier will attend the sixth Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plus China, Japan and ROK (10 PlusThree) Summit, ASEAN plus China (10 Plus One) Summit and the Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation (GMS) Summit to be held in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia.

During the meetings, Chinese, Japanese and Republic of Korea (ROK) leaders will also hold talks.

Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen, State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wang Zhongyu, and Minister of ForeignAffairs Tang Jiaxuan, as well as officials of the Cambodian Embassy in Beijing went to the Great Hall of the People to see Premier Zhu and his party off.

Among Premier Zhu's entourage are his wife Lao An, Minister of Communications Zhang Chunxian, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng, and Governor of Yunnan province Xu Rongkai.
