Myanmar Embassies Abroad Threatened by Bomb Attacks: Spokesman
A Myanmar government spokesman saidon Thursday that Myanmar embassies in Tokyo and Singapore were threatened by bomb attacks during the last three days.

An envelope of greeting-card size, hidden with explosives and sent anonymously on Monday to the Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo from Thailand, was defused by a Tokyo bomb squad resulting in no injuries, Tokyo police was quoted by Major-General Kyaw Win, vice chief of the military intelligence, as saying at a press briefing here.
Another letter containing a detonator, sent from Thailand and addressed to the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore, was also defused onWednesday by the Singapore bomb squad, he said.
The spokesman charged his country's anti-government organizations in exile in Thailand with committing these acts, saying that these cases are under investigation.
This was the first time that Myanmar embassies abroad have beenthreatened by such parcel bomb attacks.
In a recent statement of the Myanmar government, it has pledgedcommitment to cooperate with the United States and the international community in fight against terrorism by sharing information with the United States on the terrorists operating along the country's western border.
