Hamas Reiterates Opposition to Israeli-Palestinian Peace Accords
Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Wednesday said any Palestinian government would never succeed if it recognizes Israeli-Palestinian Oslo accords signed in 1993.
Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Wednesday said any Palestinian government would never succeed if it recognizes Israeli-Palestinian Oslo accords signed in 1993.
"If Palestinian cabinet recognizes the weak accords such as the Oslo, it would never change the reality of the Palestinian people and its fate would be failure," said Abdel Aziz Ranteesi, a spokesman for the Hamas movement in Gaza.
Ranteesi, who has been prevented by the Palestinian security force to show up on satellite television stations, said he has not seen any new faces in the Palestinian cabinet for years.
"There must be complete changes of the policies and the manners on the ground of reality. Corruption must be fought, and the government must not listen to the US and Israeli demands of reforms," Ranteesi stressed.
Hamas movement rejects the resumption of the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians, and insists that the only choice to end the Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories is to keep carrying out attacks against Israel.
Arafat Tuesday formed a new Palestinian cabinet and nominated only five new ministers at his office in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The new cabinet won an overwhelming majority voting by the Palestinian Legislative Council, or Parliament.
