Qingdao Becomes China's Largest Port of Entry for Imported Ore

Qingdao port in east China's Shandong Province handled 23.1 million tons of ore in the first nine months of this year, surpassing Ningbo of Zhejiang Province as China's largest port of entry for imported ore.

Qingdao port in east China's Shandong Province handled 23.1 million tons of ore in the first nine months of this year, surpassing Ningbo of Zhejiang Province as China's largest port of entry for imported ore.

Sources say Qingdao port is expected to handle more than 30 million tons of ore in 2003.

The port has a 200,000-dwt class and a 100,000-dwt class ore-handling system as well as five deep-water berths.
