650 Former Hostages Remain Hospitalized in Moscow

Nearly 650 of the hostages, who were released Saturday from a Moscow theater, still remain hospitalized, with 150 of them under intensive care and 45 in serious condition, Russian medical officials said Sunday.

Nearly 650 of the hostages, who were released Saturday from a Moscow theater, still remain hospitalized, with 150 of them under intensive care and 45 in serious condition, Russian medical officials said Sunday.

The Interfax news agency quoted Andrei Seltsovky, the head Moscow city doctor, as saying that the death toll had risen to 117,including 63 men and 54 women. Only 51 of the dead had been identified, he said.

Moscow hospitals on Sunday began releasing some former hostages,but most were being kept for further treatment.
