DPRK Spokesman on Nuclear Issue
A foreign ministry spokesman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Friday that Pyongyang considers that it is a "reasonable and realistic solution" to the nuclear issue to conclude the non-aggression treaty between the DPRK and the United States if the grave situation of the Korean Peninsular is to be bridged over.
"If the US assures the DPRK of non-aggression, the DPRK will be ready to clear the former of its security concerns," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
"The settlement of all problems with the DPRK will be based on removing any threat to its sovereignty and right to its existence," the statement said.
The statement said the DPRK makes it clear to the US envoy James Kelly that the DPRK was entitled to possess not only nuclear weapons but any type of weapons more powerful.
