APEC Focuses on Implementation of Shanghai Accord, Says Chinese Minister
Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan said Wednesday that implementing the Shanghai Accord reached by leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum last year is an important topic of this year's APEC meeting.

During a meeting with his Mexican counterpart, Jorge Castaneda,Tang expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Mexico in hosting this year's APEC meetings, according to a press release from the Chinese delegation.
Tang said China supports the theme of this year's APEC meeting -- "Expanding the Benefits of Cooperation for Economic Growth and Development -- Implementing the Vision," and is ready to cooperate with Mexico to make the meeting a success.
The two also expressed satisfaction over the development of Sino-Mexican relations.
Tang told Castaneda that it is of particular importance for China and Mexico to further maintain close consultations and cooperation under the current complicated and ever-changing international situation.
Also on Wednesday, Tang met with his Indonesian counterpart, Hasan Wirayuda.
The Sino-Indonesian relationship is enjoying "its best period" in history, Tang said, adding that to develop a relationship of mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation between China and Indonesia is China's stated policy and is the consensus reached by the two sides.
It is necessary for leaders of the two countries to keep contact and facilitate the exchanges of visits, Tang said.
They also exchanged views on other issues like anti-terror.
Tang and his two counterparts are here to attend the 14th Ministerial Meeting of APEC which opened earlier on Wednesday.
