MIG-21 Fighter Crashes in India

A Mig-21 fighter belonging to the Indian Air Force crashed on Monday night in the country's northwest state of Rajasthan, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Tuesday.

A Mig-21 fighter belonging to the Indian Air Force crashed on Monday night in the country's northwest state of Rajasthan, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Tuesday.

The plane, which was on a regular training flight, crashed while attempting to land at an air strip near Jodhpur, some 590 kilometers southwest of here in high velocity wind conditions around 10 p.m. local time (4:30 GMT) on Monday, the agency quoted the police as saying.

However, the pilot ejected safely using a parachute, PTI added.
