China Congratulates Newly-formed Nepalese Interim Government

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said on Tuesday the Chinese government supports Nepal's newly formed interim government.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said on Tuesday the Chinese government supports Nepal's newly formed interim government.

Zhang said at a regular press conference that Chinese leaders have sent a congratulatory message to the Nepalese government.

China respects the choice of the Nepalese people, and believes the Nepalese government and people have the capacity to restore domestic peace and stability, ensure a stable society, and boost the economy, she said.

Zhang said China is ready to strengthen and deepen the good- neighborly cooperative friendship between the two countries on the basis of the five principles of peaceful co-existence.
