9 from HK Football Club Still Missing in Bali Blasts
Hong Kong Football Club confirmed Monday evening that seven players and two supporters from the club were still missing in the explosions that killed at least 183 people at Bali, Indonesia late Saturday night.
Hong Kong Football Club confirmed Monday evening that seven players and two supporters from the club were still missing in the explosions that killed at least 183 people at Bali, Indonesia late Saturday night.
The missing players were in Bali last weekend for the annual Bali Rugby 10's Tournament, which takes place in the grounds of the Grand Bali Beach Hotel near Kuta town.
Football club general manager Mark Paully said he believed that the missing players and supporters, most of them British, had been in the nightclub when a car bomb explosion occurred there.
"All we know is they were intending to meet in the bar where the bomb went off. We believe all those missing were present at the bar at the time," local media quoted Paully as saying.
A two-man Hong Kong Football Club Communications Team flew to Bali Monday morning on the first flight to assist the local support team and establish a communications link to Hong Kong.
