The attack came at around 7:50 a.m. local time (0450 GMT), according to a statement released by the US Embassy.
The Kuwaiti Defence Ministry and the US military have launched a joint investigation into the new attack against the US presence in the kingdom.
On Tuesday, two young Kuwaitis opened fire at a group of US marines on Failaka island, killing one marine and wounding another.The two Kuwaitis were also gunned down.
Kuwaiti Interior Minister Sheikh Mohamed Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah wrapped up the case on Saturday by announcing that 15 suspects have been arrested and "referred to the public prosecution."
