Chinese men's basketball team head coach Wang Fei kept on alert to South Korean noise makers before Busan Asian Games' final between defending champions China and South Korea on Monday.
"We have the confidence to win," Wang told Xinhua on Sunday. "But we have to fully prepare ourselves to the noisy atmosphere of the games."
"In anywhere else, we would undoubtedly beat them. But we will play the final match on their home soil tomorrow."
Enthusiastic South Korean cheerers made their name across the globe through the 2002 World Cup finals by uplifting the hosts and frustrating the visitors with tremendous noise throughout the game. The Chinese men, South Korea's arch-rivals in Asia in the sport of basketball, will be flooded by such kind of noise.
"Our players would be unable to hear from each other on the court," said Wang. "We have to get ready for the most difficult situation."
"We need to be cool enough to win the game," He added.
Wang was impressed by South Korean sharp shooter Moon Kyung-eun, who emerged as the hosts' leading scorer at the Asiad with more than 20 points per game.
"Moon shoots the ball very well," Wang said. "We should take good care of him."
The men's and women's basketball finals of the regional games have been made a South Korea-China affair after teams from the two countries swept the semifinals.
