Wang Daohan Awarded Honorary Doctorate by HK University

Wang Daohan was awarded an honorary doctorate of Hong Kong University Saturday at a ceremony held in Shanghai Grand Theater.

Wang Daohan was awarded an honorary doctorate of Hong Kong University Saturday at a ceremony held in Shanghai Grand Theater.

Wang Daohan is president of the Association for Relations Across Taiwan Straits.

He was mayor of Shanghai from 1980 to 1985. From 1987, Wang worked as an economics professor of Beijing University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Tongji University.

Lap-Chee Tsui, president of the Hong Kong University, said the university has closer ties with the mainland in education and research. It has set up laboratories with many domestic teaching and research organizations.
