Meng of China Strikes Men's C-1 Canoeing Title in Asiad
Meng Guanliang claimed the gold medal of men's single Canadian 500 meters canoeing event in Asiad here on Saturday.

Meng Guanliang claimed the gold medal of men's single Canadian 500 meters canoeing event in Asiad here on Saturday.
Meng crossed the finish line in 1:51.332, while Park Chang-kyu of South Korea took the silver medal by 1:51.728.
The bronze medal went to Kaisar Nurmaganbetov of
Kazakhstan
whoclocked 1:52.388.
After the race, Meng said that although he won the gold, he wasnot satisfied with his performance today.
"I paid too much attention to Nurmaganbetov during the competition, I thought he would be my strongest opponent, but the South Korean did a very good job, he made me too nervous in the last few meters."
"Today's results is much worse than my ordinary one, I didn't thrash well when sprinted to the final line because of nervous." said Meng.
Meng, who also won the title of men's single Canadian canoe 1,000m event on Thursday, said that he was quite happy to win an unexpected double golds here.
"It is far beyond my expectation," said Meng, "I wished that I would have good performance in Asiad, but two gold medals are totally out of expectation."
"But it didn't surprise me, because I have the strength to win."
