China will increase the cost of air tickets on some domestic flights by 6 percent from Oct.10, according to a recently released statement by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Rising fuel prices were the main reason for the increase, CAAC said. Though under national pricing guidelines, airline companies still have the right to decide whether to raise the cost of tickets, and by how much.
Company sources said that the price of any air tickets bought before Oct.10 would stay the same.
