Pakistan Test-fires Medium Range Missile
Pakistan on Tuesday successfully test-fired its indigenously developed medium-range ballistic missile called Hatf-IV (Shaheen-1), according to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
Pakistan on Tuesday carried out another successful test fire of its indigenously developed medium range ballistic missile Hatf-IV (Shaheen-1).
"Today's test was in continuation to the one conducted on October 4, 2002 to validate certain additional parameters," a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations said.
"These parameters stand completely validated in the light of data collected from the test," the press release further said.
The test concludes for now the series of planned tests, the press release added.
Pakistan on Oct. 4 successfully test-fired its indigenously built medium range surface-to-surface ballistic missile Hatf-IV (Shaheen-1).
Prior to the test, notification had been given to neighbors as well as some friendly countries, said a press release from the Inter Service Public Relations.
Foreign Office spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan said on Oct. 4 that the test was to check the technical aspects of the missile. "It isin line with testing the technical aspects of the indigenously produced missile," Khan added.
"It has nothing to do with the India-Pakistan situation but to test the technical aspects of the missile," he added.
