Jordan's King Stressed Enacting UN Resolutions as Only Peace Option
Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday stressed that Mideast peace can only be achieved through the full implementation of all relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Jordanian King Abdullah II on Monday stressed that Mideast peace can only be achieved through the full implementation of all relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He made the remarks during a meeting with a delegation from the British Royal Academy, Jordan's official Petra news agency reported.
The monarch also said the establishment of an independent Palestinian state side by side with Israel will lead to an end to the cycle of violence and will achieve genuine peace in the region.
Abdullah also pointed out that the Mideast conflicts could only come to an end after the rights for security and peaceful existancefor all parties concerned are guaranteed.
On the Iraqi issue, Abdullah said he hopes that the Iraqi crisiswill be solved through dialogue with the United Nations.
Jordan has on many occasions voiced its opposition to a possibleUS-led war against Iraq allegedly for its pursuit of weapons of mass destruction.
