China's Liu Chunhong Sets Three World Records to Win Women's 69kg Category Gold

Chinese lifter Liu Chunhong dispayed her overwhelming power at the 14th Asian Games on Sunday, lifting three world records to win the women's 69kg category weightlifting gold medal.

Chinese lifter Liu Chunhong dispayed her overwhelming power at the 14th Asian Games on Sunday, lifting three world records to win the women's 69kg category weightlifting gold medal.

After snatching a world mark weight of 115.5 kilograms, Liu kept her record-breaking pace in the clean and jerk with a lift of148kg. With two record lifts, Liu had a combined weight of 262.5kg, beating the previous world mark by 5 kilograms.

At the world championships in Antalya, Turkey last November, Valentina Popova of Russia set a snatch world record at 115 and the total mark at 257.5.

The previous jerk record of 147.5 was set by Liu Chunhong earlier this year.

Pawina Thongsuk of Thailand was second at 260kg and Mya Sanda Oo of Myanmar finished third at 250.
