China's Wang Liqin/Wang Nan crushed their strong South Korean opponents Oh Sang Eun/Kim Moo Kyo 3-1 to book a place in the semifinals of the 14th Asiad table tennis mixed doubles Sunday.

The victory was significant as it indicated that Wang Nan, Chinese top women paddler, had walked out of the shadow of losing both of her matches in a women's team final against the DPR Koreans on Friday evening.

The two Wangs were mixed doubles champions of the last Asian Games in Bangkok while Oh and Kim were world runners-up at last year's Osaka world championships.

The other Chinese pair Ma Lin/Li Nan also beat Chinese Hong Kong's Ko Lai Chak/Lau Sui Fei for another semifinal berth.

Wang Nan/Wang Liqin will face Chinese Hong Kong's Cheung Yuk/Tie Ya'na and Ma Lin/Li Nan will meet South Korea's Ryu Seung Min/Ryu Ji Hae in the semifinals to be played shortly.

The mixed doubles final is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. today.
