China's Liu Xia Wins Women's 63kg Weightlifting with World Record
Liu Xia of China lifted a world record weight in the clean and jerk en route to winning the women's 63kg category weightlifting gold medal at the 14th Asian Games Thursday afternoon.

The Chinese girl had 105 kilograms from snatch and 135 kilograms in the jerk for a winning total of 240 kilograms.
In the clean and jerk, she first tried 127.5 kilograms to seal the gold. In the second attempt, Liu Xia asked a world record weight of 135.5 kilograms and had a good lift, beating the listed world mark by 0.5 kgs. The previous record of 135kg was lifted bySkakun Nataliya of Ukraine in Antalya, Turkey last November.
Khin Moe Nwe of Myanmar had the silver at 220 and Kuo Ping Chunof Chinese Taipei took the bronze at 217.5.
Saipin Detsaeng of Thailand, who had 105kg in the snatch, couldhave been a challenge to China's Liu Xia, but an injury sustained from her third failed lift of 120kg in the snatch forced her to retire from clean and jerk.
