"Our young players had a good game, but they seemed a little bit nervous today," said Chinese player Bai Jie.
Resting veterans Sun Wen, Zhao Lihong and Bai Jie, Chinese coach Ma Liangxing sent all his young players into the match against Chinese Taipei, which had better defenses compared with attack.

The women's soccer competitions, running from October 2 to 11, featured nine teams.
