Israeli tanks began leaving Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Ramallah compound Sunday after a 10-day siege, Palestinian sources said.

The movement followed an Israeli cabinet decision to ease the confinement of Arafat in the West Bank city under the mounting international pressure, especially from the United States.

Israel reimposed the siege on Arafat on Sept. 19 after a back-to-back suicide bombing attacks in Israel.
