The ace foil fencers from China andSouth Korea occupied the top four of the men's individual competition at the Busan Asian Games Sunday afternoon.

Defending champion Wang Haibin of China beat Lau Kwok Kin from Hong Kong, China, 15-8 in a quarterfinal clash, while his teammateWu Hanxiong, the bronze medalist at the Lisbon World Fencing Championships in August, upset Okano Takashi from Japan with the same score.

Kim Young-ho, who took the first Olympic gold for the South Korean fencing team in Sydney, eliminated Abdelmohsen Shahrayen from Kuwait 15-10, while his teammate Kim Sang-hun outscored SeguiEmerson from the Philippines 15-7.

The semifinals will see two South Korea-China duels, with Wang Haibin meeting Kim Young-ho and Wu Hanxiong fighting Kim Sang-hun.

The final will start in the evening, which will produce the first gold medal of the Busan Asiad.
