Young delegates from Japan and China gathered here in the capital city of East China's Zhejiang Province for the opening of a youth forum to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The forum was first proposed during a Sino-Japanese friendship exchange meeting in Japan last year and was jointly sponsored by the China-Japan Friendship Association, the All-China Youth Federation and the Zhejiang Provincial Friendship Association.

The participants exchanged views on the evolution of positive bilateral relations over the past 30 years.

The forum stressed that the young people of the two countries should strengthen cooperation and safeguard China-Japan friendship on the basis of the principles of viewing history as a mirror and looking forward to the future.
