Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Wednesday with President of Danish Parliament Ivar Hansen, and hoped that the two sides will make joint efforts to further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
He noted that in the past five decades and more since the two countries forged diplomatic relations, in recent years in particular, bilateral relations have enjoyed a sound development.
The two countries have no disputes on fundamental interest while their economies are highly complementary, said Zhu, adding that China's rapid economic growth cherishes great potentials for bilateral cooperation.
Zhu welcomed more Danish parliamentarians to visit China to witness China's changes in the past few years.
Hansen said Denmark and China have a long history of friendly contacts, and the Danish government and parliament pay great attention to bilateral relations and will conduct candid dialogues with China.
He went on to say that many Danish parliamentary members have visited China, which played an important role in enhancing the understandings between the two peoples, and the Danish parliament hopes to continue bilateral exchanges in various aspects.
During the meeting, Zhu answered questions on China-Europe relations, Danish investment in China and China's environmental protection.
Zhu is paying an official visit to Denmark as guest of Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen. He attended the Fourth Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and the Fifth China-EU Summit held here from Monday to Tuesday.
