China to Host Asian Women's Junior Basketball Championship

The inaugural Asian women's junior basketball championship will be held here from October 28 to November 3, organizers said Tuesday in Shijiazhuang.

The inaugural Asian women's junior basketball championship will be held here from October 28 to November 3, organizers said Tuesday in Shijiazhuang.

The championship, the first-ever world-class sports event in Shijiazhuang, will feature 11 countries and regions in two round-robin groups, with top two teams of each group advancing to the semifinals.

Winners and the second-place finishers of the tournament will represent Asia for the world women's junior basketball championship next year.

The participating squads are from Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mongolia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan and hosts China.
