Beijing Gala Marks Normalization Anniversary of Sino-Japanese Ties

A grand gathering, attended by some 13,800 Japanese tourists, was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Sunday evening to mark the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese ties.

Beijing Gala Marks Normalization Anniversary of Sino-Japanese Ties
A grand gathering, attended by some 13,800 Japanese tourists, was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Sunday evening to mark the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese ties.

Chinese President Jiang Zemin and Vice-President Hu Jintao attended the meeting, and President Jiang is expected to deliver aspeech on Sino-Japanese ties and on bilateral people-to-peoplecontacts.

It is said to be the biggest such event ever held in China.
