China Begins Anti-dumping Investigation of Japanese, ROK Chemical
China began investigation Friday into the alleged dumping of a chemical product the country imported from Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK), the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) announced in Beijing.
MOFTEC said it will decide whether dumping of pure and polymeric MDI, a raw chemical used in the production of artificial leather, elastic fiber and glu, has occurred and if so, at what level.
The State Economic and Trade Commission of China also began investigation Friday into the harm the possible dumping may have caused to China's domestic industry.
The announcement said MOFTEC and the State Economic and Trade Commission began their inquiries at the request of the Wanhua Polyurethane Co. Ltd. in Yantai City of east China's Shandong Province, the sole producer of MDI in China.
