IBM Sets up New Branch in Southwest China

Information technology giant IBM opened a branch office Thursday in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province in southwest China.

Information technology giant IBM opened a branch office Thursday in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province in southwest China.

It is the 13th office opened by the multinational company in China. Representatives from IBM and Yunnan University agreed to cooperate in training software professionals.

IBM donated equipment to Yunnan University and 25 Kidsmart computers to five local kindergartens.

IBM China was established in 1992, and IBM offices have been opened in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, Wuhan, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Chongqing, Fuzhou and Urumqi.
