No.2 Generating Unit of Ling'ao Nuclear Power Plant Generates Electricity

The No.2 Generating Unit of Ling'ao Nuclear Plant generated electricity at 10:35 am of September 14, three months ahead of schedule. This progress has ensured that the two generators are put into commercial operation by the end of this year.

The No.2 Generating Unit of Ling'ao Nuclear Plant generated electricity at 10:35 am of September 14, three months ahead of schedule. This progress has ensured that the two generators are put into commercial operation by the end of this year.

The No. 1 generator was put into commercial use on May 28 this year, it has so far been operating for 113 days and generated 2.43 billion KW/H of electricity, it will play an important role in easing power shortages in Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City.

Since construction began on May 15, 1997, it has become part of the local power grid on February 26 this year. It is Guangdong's second largest nuclear power plant after the one at Daya Bay, and was one of China's major power projects for the 1996-2000 period.
