Investments in China by Taiwanese companies jumped 47 percent in the first half of this year, the official Xinhua news agency said in a report Sunday.
Trade and new Taiwanese investment projects on the mainland also grew by double digits.
Taiwanese companies invested dlrs 1.9 billion on the mainland in the first six months of the year, the report said.
Companies from the island province have invested a total of dlrs 100 billion in Chinese mainland since the island lifted a ban on business dealings with the mainland a decade ago.
Taiwanese companies signed contracts in the first half of this year promising another dlrs 4.4 billion in future investment �� a 31 percent increase over the same period last year.
The number of new Taiwanese investments approved by Beijing rose 11 percent to 2,179, the report said.
Trade between the two sides rose 31 percent to dlrs 19.6 billion in the first half, compared with the same period last year.
It said Chinese imports from Taiwan rose 33 percent to dlrs 16.8 billion while exports to the island grew 19 percent to dlrs 2.8 billion.
