Landslide Kills 12, 10 Still Missing in Central China
Twelve people were killed, seven wounded and 10 missing in a serious landslide on Thursday in Xianfeng County, central China's Hubei Province, said sources fromlocal rescue teams.

On Thursday evening, rocks and earth in a 100 meter-long swath suddenly slid down a 120-meter-high cliff in Gaoleshan Town in Xianfeng, said witnesses. Debris is estimated at 25,000 cubic meters.
When the landslide occurred, 37 workers were cleaning the surface of a nearby road and 22 of them were buried in the fallen rocks, said Liu Fangzhen, Xianfeng county leader.
So far, rescue teams have found 12 bodies and 10 other were still missing.
The local government has mobilized about 1,000 people and rescue personnel to deal with relief work and the disaster's aftermath.
